What a session actually feels like
There is no need to arrive knowing how to pose. I’ll give you something natural to do together, keep an eye on the light, and leave room for kids to warm up in their own time.
We can make a few portraits with everyone looking at the camera, then let the hour breathe. A walk, a hand to hold, a joke that lands, a pause in the shade. The pictures feel polished, but still belong to your family.
Before the session, we’ll choose a place and time that make sense for your family, with simple wardrobe guidance so getting ready feels manageable.

Family photography questions
What if my toddler will not sit still?
That is completely fine. We keep the session moving, build in pauses, and use simple activities instead of expecting young children to hold a pose.
What should we wear?
Soft earth tones, comfortable layers, and a mix of simple textures photograph well. Coordinate colors rather than matching exactly. I’m happy to help you plan outfits before the session.
Can we bring our dog?
Often, yes. We’ll choose a pet-friendly location and plan for one adult to help with your dog between photographs. Let me know when we plan the session.
What if the weather does not cooperate?
We’ll keep an eye on the forecast and talk through the options together. If conditions make the session impractical, we can choose another date.
Where can we have our session?
Popular settings include Red Rock Canyon, Mount Charleston, Summerlin parks and trails, Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs, and your own home or nearby outdoor space.
Can you photograph our extended family?
Yes. Tell me how many people will be joining so we can choose a comfortable location and talk about whether extra time is a good fit.
