Centennial Hills sessions with trees, water, and shade

The greenest photo location in Las Vegas, minutes from the northwest valley.

Why Centennial Hills works

Centennial Hills is where you go when you want grass, shade, and water instead of open desert. Floyd Lamb Park anchors the area with cottonwoods, willow-lined ponds, white ranch buildings, and wide lawns, and in late autumn the whole park turns gold.

It is the most forgiving location in the city for families with small children. There is shade when it is warm, room to run, and enough distinct backdrops inside a short walk that a 60 minute session never looks like one background repeated.

Sessions that fit Centennial Hills

Families with young kids

Lawns, ponds, and ducks do most of the entertaining. Toddlers get to move, and there is always shade within a few steps if the sun is still high.

Maternity and newborn

Soft filtered light under the cottonwoods is kind to skin tones, and the walking distance stays short enough for late pregnancy or a first outing with a newborn.

Seniors and quinceaneras

White ranch buildings, wooden bridges, and the pond edge give formal-wear portraits a set of clean, classic backdrops in one place.

Planning your Centennial Hills photo session

Best time of year

There is not a bad one. The tree cover keeps this park working even in the hottest months, when you can find shade and cooler air under the cottonwoods. Late October through early December is the showiest, when the leaves turn gold, and mornings here are genuinely lovely. Golden hour and the last few hours of the day are still the best light if you have the choice.

What to wear

Cream, camel, sage, and denim sit naturally against green lawns and autumn leaves. Long dresses photograph especially well on the bridges and open grass.

Park access

Floyd Lamb Park charges a small vehicle entry fee at the gate and keeps posted seasonal hours. I confirm the current hours and the meeting point before your date.

Pacing with kids

We work in loops: a few frames, a break at the water, a few more. Snacks are welcome, and the car is never far away.

Centennial Hills session questions

Is this the same place as Floyd Lamb Park?

Yes. Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs sits inside the Centennial Hills area of northwest Las Vegas, and it is where most sessions in this part of town are photographed.

How long is the session?

Family sessions run 60 minutes. Couples and portrait sessions run 30 minutes. Elopement and wedding coverage starts at two hours. Boudoir runs 60 minutes or more, depending on the location and the style you are after. Newborn sessions also run 60 minutes, but they are photographed indoors, at the studio or in your home.

When will we get our photos?

For most sessions your finished gallery is delivered within 72 hours through a private online gallery.

Can we bring props or a cake smash setup?

Yes, as long as it is easy to carry in and carry out. Tell me what you are bringing and I will pick a spot with the space and the light to make it work.
